Avery Parkinson is a high school student from Ottawa, Canada. She is passionate about sustainable community design and the central role food production and consumption plays in this process. She first started learning about cellular agriculture in the fall of 2019 and was immediately interested in the technology’s potential to produce staples of our modern diet at scale in such a way to be less environmentally intensive. Avery has held internships with Tufts University/New Harvest, The Good Food Institute, Big Idea Ventures, and she volunteers with Cellular Agriculture Canada and Cellular Agriculture Australia.
