Quality & Sampling Technician

We are looking to hire a Quality & Sampling technician to help us evaluate the quality of our product samples in a timely manner; organize and manage product inventory necessary for sampling requirements and validation of ingredients. They are responsible for shipping samples to external laboratories/clients, maintaining inventory, quality assurance processes, testing of products, and recording results gathered.

Location: South San Francisco

Full Time: Exempt, Full Time

**Responsibilities: **

  • Preparation of samples for shipment.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Commercial Teams, assist with shipping and receiving customer samples.
  • Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments against packaging specs.
  • Maintain an organized sample inventory based on well-defined categories.
  • Perform quality tests to evaluate functionality of samples.
  • Maintain and update internal-facing quality data tracker.
  • Perform all documentation, sample preparation, and data handling following SOPs.
  • Prepare reports and present research findings.
  • Participate in internal sensory evaluation panels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications/Requirements we are looking for: **

  • Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous experience in shipping / receiving roles is desirable.
  • Ability to contribute in a fast paced, research-oriented environment is required.
  • Knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and experience working with Google Drive is required.
  • Operate with moderate supervision and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks. 
  • Good communication skills (oral and written). 
  • Demonstrated scientific rigor and curiosity by supporting new idea generation.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
