Responsibilities
-- Genetically engineer microbes using high-throughput combinatorial
approach
-- Optimization of strains through genomic engineering
-- Assay development for high-throughput screening methods
-- Work on maximizing strain performance and enabling process scale up
-- Work in a dynamic environment with changing and evolving
specifications and requirements
-- Play a key role in building an exciting and successful start-up
company
Requirements
-- Background in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics,
Biotechnology or a related field, prior industry experience preferred
-- Hands-on experience with strain optimization using HTP methods
(engineering yeast a plus)
-- High proficiency with HTP DNA cloning methods and data
interpretation
-- Ability to design and build genetic systems and are up-to-date with
current techniques (CRISPR/Cas, type IIs, directed evolution, etc)
-- Understanding of bio-engineering-based production processes and
KPI's
-- Experience with automation and robotics a plus
-- Bioinformatics skills a plus
-- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage challenging
projects/workload
