Carozzi launches the second edition of its open innovation program to shape the future of food

The Latin American food company will develop pilot projects with startups, entrepreneurs and universities in its production facilities in Chile, Peru and Argentina, working directly with its technical teams.

Santiago, Chile – 12 March 2026. Carozzi, one of the largest food companies in Latin America, has launched the second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, its open innovation program aimed at accelerating solutions that will shape the future of food. Developed in collaboration with international foodtech accelerator Eatable Adventures, the initiative introduces four strategic challenges and invites startups, universities and technology solvers from around the world to co-develop cutting-edge solutions alongside the company.

The program seeks to connect Carozzi’s core business with global innovation ecosystems. Selected participants will have the opportunity to develop pilot projects in the company’s production plants in Chile, Peru and Argentina, working directly with Carozzi’s technical teams. This hands-on approach allows faster implementation, real-world validation and shared learning between the company and innovators.

“In Carozzi we have been running several programs aimed at strengthening our relationship with the entrepreneurial ecosystem to promote innovative solutions linked to the food industry, agriculture and the distribution chain. These allow us to generate greater value and wellbeing for our consumers, with the conviction that open innovation is a key lever to continue strengthening our portfolio and competitiveness,” said José Manuel Muñoz, Innovation and Digital Transformation Manager at Carozzi.

The four challenges presented in this edition are:

  • Agile formulation and early testing of new products: Solutions that shorten product development cycles, improve formulation accuracy from early stages and enable agile, measurable validation of key product attributes.

  • Availability and strategic management of consumer, market, and channel intelligence: Advanced capabilities that integrate traditional data sources with alternative signals such as digital, transactional and e-commerce data through advanced analytics.

  • Adapt and reformulate products for label simplification, regulation, and/or new consumer demands: Technologies that help adapt products to evolving regulations and increasing consumer demand for simpler, more natural ingredients.

  • Value generation from waste streams and by-products as a lever for the circular economy: Technologies capable of transforming residual streams into new sources of value, particularly in categories such as tomato sauces, fruit purées and concentrates.

The call for applications will remain open until mid-April. During May, proposals will undergo technical evaluation, and in June the selected participants will move on to the pilot phase. Pilot projects will take place between July and December, enabling scaling decisions based on real data and tangible results.
