EIF commits €30 million to Nordic Foodtech VC for agrifood startups

The European Investment Fund has pledged up to €30 million to Nordic Foodtech VC's second fund, which targets early-stage agrifood technology companies primarily across Northern Europe. The commitment, backed by InvestEU, brings the Helsinki-based fund close to its €80 million target size and aims to accelerate the commercialization of sustainable food and agriculture technologies that often struggle to attract financing at their earliest stages.
"While Europe has excellent research in food and agriculture, promising technologies need capital and expertise to make the leap from the laboratory to the market."
—Karl Nehammer, EIB Group vice president
