Carozzi selects four international startups to work on food innovations in Chile

The Chilean food industry leader has selected four startups from the United States, Spain, Denmark and Argentina to develop pilot projects at its production facilities, following a call that attracted 183 applications from 26 countries.

Santiago, Chile, September 2, 2026 - 183 applicants from 26 countries participated in the second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, the Chilean company’s open innovation program developed together with global agrifoodtech accelerator Eatable Adventures, aimed at finding revolutionary, efficient and sustainable solutions within the entrepreneurial ecosystem to address the challenges facing the food industry.

Ultimately, four projects were selected: Argentina’s BioBlends, with its proposal for a gas that extends the shelf life of food; Denmark’s Endless Food Co., with its alternative to cocoa powder; U.S.-based ProxyFoods, with an artificial intelligence-based platform designed to accelerate production processes; and Spain’s Sensesbit, which uses AI to transform the results of tasting tests into strategic information in real time.

“The food industry is undergoing unprecedented transformations, and companies must create opportunities to work with those who are developing technologies that seek to address these challenges. Carozzi Sinergia Startup is aimed precisely at that, with a highly relevant cultural impact, because the program allows our teams to connect and engage with startups that are developing disruptive solutions and new ways of innovating at great speed,” said José Manuel Muñoz, Carozzi’s Innovation and Digital Transformation Manager.

In its 2026 edition, the call focused on inviting initiatives that could respond to four strategic challenges: accelerating the formulation and development of new products; improving the management of consumer, market and channel information; adapting products to new regulatory requirements and consumer preferences; and creating new opportunities to add value to waste and by-products under the principles of the circular economy.

The selected initiatives will now work in a pilot phase alongside Carozzi’s technical teams to validate their technologies at the company’s production facilities. This stage will make it possible to measure their operational impact, assess their scalability and analyze their potential incorporation into different areas of the business.

With this second edition of Carozzi Sinergia Startup, the company strengthens its open innovation model and its ties with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping new technological solutions advance from validation to concrete applications in the food industry.

About the four startups

ProxyFoods (United States): helps develop new food and beverage products in less time. Its platform uses artificial intelligence to simultaneously analyze sensory, nutritional, regulatory, cost and shelf-life variables, facilitating product formulation and reducing development cycles.

Sensesbit (Spain): helps understand what consumers like and dislike when they try a product. Its technology uses artificial intelligence to analyze tasting results and turn them into clear information to improve or develop food products.

Endless Food Co. (Denmark): develops a more sustainable alternative to cocoa powder. The startup uses oats and upcycled food by-products to create an ingredient that seeks to maintain the taste, aroma and texture of cocoa while reducing exposure to volatility in the international cocoa market.

BioBlends (Argentina): seeks to extend the shelf life of food without changing its characteristics. Its biopreservation technology uses bacterial volatile compounds to prolong the shelf life of products without altering their taste, aroma or formulation, while also helping to reduce food waste.
