Food Technologist Alex Shirazi Launches Cultured Meat Cookbook on Kickstarter
San Francisco, CA — February 2, 2026 — A Scientist's Cookbook: Everyday Recipes with Cultivated Meat, a new cookbook by food technologist and writer Alex Shirazi, launches on Kickstarter, offering a first-of-its-kind look at how cultivated meat can be prepared, understood, and integrated into everyday home cooking.
As cultivated meat, also known as cultured meat, moves from research laboratories toward early commercial use, A Scientist's Cookbook bridges the gap between emerging food technology and practical, real world cooking. The book pairs accessible recipes with a realistic context, focusing on how these products are likely to appear in home kitchens rather than speculative or futuristic concepts.
Shirazi has spent years interviewing founders, scientists, and engineers working in cellular agriculture, and previously published a children's book introducing cultivated meat to younger audiences. With A Scientist's Cookbook, he brings that technical insight to a broader audience through hands-on culinary experimentation.
Rather than positioning cultivated meat as a novelty, A Scientist's Cookbook frames it as a natural evolution of existing food systems, designed to fit into meals people already recognize and enjoy.
"We're not talking about some far-off future. These products are coming to grocery shelves soon, and now is the time to start cooking with them," says Alex Shirazi. "While there is plenty of discussion about cultivated meat, very little attention is paid to how it actually shows up in everyday life. This cookbook focuses on that missing step."
The Kickstarter campaign will fund the first print run of the cookbook and distribution. Rewards include signed first edition copies and early access to digital content. The project is aimed at home cooks, food professionals, educators, and readers interested in the future of food technology.
