GNT achieves independent verification of carbon footprint methodology for Exberry colors
ByEditor
GNT, a Netherlands-based food color manufacturer, has secured independent verification of its Product Carbon Footprint methodology for its Exberry plant-based coloring ingredients. TUV SUD confirmed that GNT's cradle-to-gate calculations align with ISO 14067, making GNT one of the first food color companies worldwide to achieve such verification. The PCF data covers greenhouse gas emissions across the full lifecycle of each ingredient, from agriculture through production and transportation.
"This important milestone now ensures our customers can rely on carbon footprint data that has been independently verified against the ISO standard."
—Petra Thiele, Managing Director, GNT Group
- GNT creates Exberry colors from non-GMO fruits, vegetables, and plants and already holds a corporate carbon footprint verification in line with the GHG Protocol covering scopes 1 through 3.
- The verified PCF figures are intended to give food and beverage brands credible data for their own sustainability reporting and marketing.
- GNT currently holds an EcoVadis Platinum award, placing it in the top 1% of companies in the food manufacturing industry for sustainability performance.
