Nexture publishes first group sustainability report, targets decarbonization across food ingredients operations
ByEditor
Nexture, the Milan-based food ingredients group, has released its inaugural sustainability report covering 2025 performance across its subsidiaries, including CSM Ingredients, HIFOOD, Italcanditi, Comprital, and Prodotti Rubicone. The report establishes a group-wide baseline organized around four pillars—People, Planet, Product, and Governance—and highlights that 94% of the group's electricity came from renewable sources, while its Green Zeus energy-efficiency program delivered more than €300,000 in annual savings. The company also launched a product carbon footprinting program, with its first assessment showing that Egg 'n Easy Plus, an egg-reduction solution for bakery applications, has a carbon footprint approximately 90% lower than typical European liquid barn eggs.
"As the CEO of a responsible company and as a mother of four, sustainability is something very close to my heart. Today, we are actively building the foundations to reduce our environmental impact, strengthen the resilience of our supply chains and develop ingredient solutions that support a more sustainable food system for our customers, our people and the wider food ecosystem."
—Valerie Diele-Braun, Chief Executive Officer of Nexture
